WD Updates its NAS Solution for Agile Data Management

IRVIN, CA: WD, a connected storage solutions provider, expands its network attached storage (NAS) solutions by adding four new products for safe data management, storage and streaming solutions for creative professionals and small businesses. The launched products come under the series My Cloud Expert and My Cloud Business.
 

My Cloud Expert Series

My Cloud Expert Series products facilitate streaming videos and music to devices including WD TV Live media players, gaming consoles and smart TVs. It also has data serving options such as FTP and integrated file server, and P2P downloads as well as backup server. My Cloud Expert series NAS, monitor system health, manage users and energy saving features are customizable with My Cloud dashboard.

The Series encompasses My Cloud EX2100 (two-bay) and My Cloud EX4100 (four-bay) NAS systems for creative professionals and prosumers. Both the product suite helps in safe storage, sharing, back up, streaming and managing of digital data including photographs, mp3s, videos, and digital files of large sizes.

Features of the solution include: 24 TB storage size; and dual-core Marvell ARMADA processor providing efficient read/write speeds for effective HD media streaming. This solution has been designed specifically to serve the myriad of uses of photographers, graphic designers and video production.

Customers can backup their computers with the automatic backup up provided by the software; WD SmartWare Pro for PC and Apple Time Machine backup software for Mac. RAID options such as RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, Just a Bunch of Disks (JBOD) and spanning modes, also facilitates configuring WD Red drives.
 

My Cloud Business Series

This second part of the roll out, My Cloud Business Series; facilitates backup to My Cloud at other location as well as to ElephantDrive and Amazon S3. The One-touch USB 3.0 copy button enables storing the saved data in USB storage device to NAS. Easy-Slide-Drive technology in My Cloud Business Series is easy to install and hot swap drives quickly.

While My Cloud Business Series running on Linux-based WD My Cloud operating software has My Cloud DL2100 (two-bay) and My Cloud DL4100 (four-bay) NAS systems, (Shuffle) My Cloud DL2100 and DL4100 come diskless with diverse storage capacities. The DL2100 is available in 4 TB, 8 TB or 12 TB capacities and DL4100 in 8 TB, 16 TB or 24 TB capacities.

My Cloud Business Series is powered by Intel Atom dual core processor with 2GB RAM and 24TB data storage capacity. It also powers small businesses to access critical data from anywhere. The series have a host of features which include: AES 256-bit volume encryption and multiple RAID options such as RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, JBOD and spanning modes. It also features dual power supply ports with fail over, dual Gigabit Ethernet, UPS, memory expansion up to 6GB, iSCSI target and initiator, replication and file synchronization, integrated FTP, WebDAV server, SSH Shell, and Microsoft Active Directory support.
