To address the reliability issue, the company developed the industry’s best low-density parity-check (LDPC) code solution for flash reliability targeting the latest 3D NAND flash Technologies. LDPC is a very powerful error correction code (ECC) technology now being used with NAND flash SSD.

Their solution unlocks flash device characteristics for endurance and retention through advanced LDPC error correction coupled with statistical digital signal processing (S-DSP). LDPC Encoder/ Decoder underpins a scalable flash media-side platform that can be customized to a customer’s specifications. The solution also helps in increasing Program/Erase (P/E) cycles that extend the life of flash. These key solutions along with standard PCI Express, ONFI and DDR4 interfaces make them unique in this space. Mobiveil’s customizable SSD controller architecture affords customers a key differentiation in getting product to market quickly and cost effectively.
Thummarukudy recounts one instance when Mobiveil helped a client SSD controller developer in creating a power-efficient yet high performance SOC. Combining Mobiveil’s NVM Express controller along with its PCI Express (GPEX) and NAND flash controllers, the customer had nearly complete verified standard-compliant solution ready for manufacture in 6 months. Subsequently, the client was able to offer his customer improved performance and battery life.
To enhance its platform, Mobiveil aims to leverage the power of AI and machine learning to be incorporated in its SSD platform going forward. The company aims to increase its footprint in the Asia Pacific region with a focus on addressing the needs of its customers in China.
