Scality Partners with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to Accelerate Software-defined Object and File Storage

FREMONT, CA: The explosion of sensor data, mobile devices, and cloud-native applications continues to drive rapid growth of unstructured and semi-structured data, shining a spotlight on scalability and performance gaps in legacy NAS (network attached storage) solutions. Scality, a software-defined storage solution provider, has announced a partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to accelerate the adoption of software-defined object and file storage. The strategic relationship expands the availability of Scality’s Software Defined Storage Solution with HP’s global reach and market-leading servers to address growing enterprise and service provider demand for massive scale data storage across multiple applications.

The enhanced partnership intends to integrate engineering strategies and deepen go-to-market collaboration with new sales resources, marketing investment, and other business development programs. HPE can now offer data storage solutions to businesses globally by combining Scality’s RING storage software on innovative HP 4000 and ProLiant Servers. The companies together deliver enterprise-class storage for 80 percent of storage workloads across file, object, and VM-based applications.

The integration of the Scality RING software, ultra-dense HPE Apollo 4510 and HPE Apollo 4200, along with advisory and support services provides a future-proof solution for object applications with the flexibility, resiliency, and performance required to drive down the cost of storage at petabyte-scale. At over 5 petabytes in a single rack and 224 TB in just 2U, the HPE Apollo 4000 series serves as a capacity-optimized computing. The production-proven combination provides high performance and low latency across large and small files as well as support for bandwidth and IOPS (input/output operations per second) focused workloads.
